David Murphy
David has over 15 years experience in IT and business consulting.
David's key skills lie in his ability to focus on action in pressurised timescales while keeping an objective eye on what is important to the business. He has developed an approach to his work that is both practical and produces real, measurable value to customers' businesses.
David worked with a leading business and IT consulting company for 6 years. As well as project delivery management David has particular expertise in process improvement and testing in large multi-national financial services organisations.
As engagement manager on a recent credit card issuing assignment, David's team were responsible for improving the acceptance rate from 50% to over 75% throughout the branch network. During the engagement, David's team piloted a new sales-to-activation process in a number of branches, resulting in a ten-fold increase in sales in the applications from those branches.
As part of the 500-strong team delivering Intelligent Finance, the largest project in Europe in 2000, David held a number of key roles including integration test manager for the telephone bank and test manager for the entire web launch. Following the successful launch of the bank David worked on a review of the account opening function, which identified over €1m in process improvements.
David worked in the USA as systems test manager for the largest conversion in the credit card acquiring industry worldwide, totalling over 500,000 merchant accounts. With a BA in Computers and Economics from UCC, David has previously worked as a financial broker and a systems analyst for over 9 years, 7 of which were in London.
