Vici Consultants were engaged in the rollout of a policy management and claim processing application across Europe for one of the world's leading insurance organisations. These applications had been developed in the USA and were now available for localisation into the European markets.
During these assignments, our consultants took on hands-on roles in implementing both the personal and commercial underwriting applications. These implementations included all aspects of successfully delivering the suite into a country - from gap anaylsis, detailed design, development, system and user testing through to implementation and support.
The implementations included up-front assessment of approaches to legacy data migration, taking the following into account:
- quality of legacy data,
- customisation required for the migration process,
- volume of historic data required,
- number of claims required as well as the
- technical complexity of migrating to the new data schema
- cost and feasibility of re-keying data
To gain a grounded assessment of whether the localised software was fit for purpose, a 'model office' environment was provided to the business users. This allowed the business to process real business transactions through the application suite in a life-like environment. It also enabled the business to provide feedback to the project team on any issues and problems so that mitigating actions could be put in place prior to launch.
